Josette Macpherson
Josette Macpherson is an artist based in Bundjalung country, the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales. Josette studied fine art at College of Fine Arts before relocating to the Tweed Coast in 2012.
Josette uses a mix of acrylic, oils and cold wax on hand-stretched raw linen. Preferring the texture and weave of rough linen she orders the fabric in from a small family business in Lithuania. Josette's obsession with painting waterways began as a way to explore her immediate surrounds as a landscape artist and making reference to the Australian pastime of flocking to the waterways.
Josette’s work has been exhibited at solo shows in Byron Bay at Lone Goat Gallery and at Mist Gallery in Cabarita Beach, NSW. As well as various group shows also at Mist Gallery.
On an average day Josette can be found pottering around the garden, painting in her home studio and enjoying nature with her husband and three children.
